211. Antique Georgian Mahogany Satinwood Inlaid Double Tea Caddy Conch Shell 19thC

Impressive English Georgian Sheraton Period Flame Grain Mahogany Double Tea Caddy of Outstanding Quality and Workmanship and compact size. Circa 1800-20. 

The hinged lid cross banded in satinwood, fabulously inlaid with a large central circular conch shell, the front area with similar inlaid decoration, all areas are decorated with satinwood stringing. 

Condition: Good condition with nice patination and no losses, almost all the lead lining inside has worn away. Lock is present, a later key is also present but does not activate the lock. The woven black fabric inside cover has in our opinion been added later, nicely done.
