Very Fine Pair of Well Cast French Patinated Bronze Representations of the Famous Marley Horses after Guillaume Coustou (French 1677-1746) from the Carrara marble life size originals which were commissioned by Louis XVI for his horse pond at his Royal French residence Chateau de Marly located near Versailles in 1739. In 1749 they were moved to Paris and placed on high pedestals at the bottom of Champs Elysee.
