An Exceptionally Fine Quality English Well Figured Rosewood Ladies or Gents English Georgian Travelling Writing Slope of outstanding quality and unusually large proportions, with lavish brass inlay decoration, twin polished brass carry handles, early 19th Century, complete with original fitted interior, to include three secret drawers.

The hinged lid opening to reveal a fitted interior with its professionally replaced rich dark black leather writing area. The rectangular flat top lid with a central decorative brass inlaid plaque, the top and side edges of the hinged lid with quadrant mouldings, the main carcass with similar detailing, another nice feature is a side pull-out drawer, see image.

Condition: Professionally restored with its professionally replaced gold leaf tooled leather inside. Lock is present and working with key. Two crystal ink bottles of a later period.

This extra-large Writing Slope is one of the finest examples ever offered.
