An Exceptional Example of a French Patinated Bronze Figural Group “Triumph of Bacchus” by Edmond Louis Auguste Leveque (1814-1875) in dark patination offered complete with its original well grained Sienna Marble circular stepped base. Mid Nineteenth Century.

Depicting a bacchanalian scene, two scantily clad Maidens on a naturalistic base, one carrying a Wine Ewer, the other with a stake holding the infant Bacchus with a torch in each hand.

Condition: Superb untouched condition, with some small losses on marble base

Signed lower left LEVEQUE.
