A Very Fine Irish Regency Rosewood & Mahogany Brass Inlaid Twin Door Side Cabinet of compact proportions.
Circa 1810.
The rectangular top with decorative brass inlay detail and a reeded brass edge, above twin diamond pattern brass grill inset doors enclosing two adjustable shelves, flanked by stylish twin brass inlaid pilasters with ebonised Lion heads, raised on very decorative and unusual ebony and polished brass Lion paw feet.
The carved use of rope edge detailing is typical of furniture made in County Cork during this early period.
Provenance: The Honorable Henry Caufield (1779-1862) Hockley Lodge. Richhill, Co. Armagh, Northern Ireland. Hockley Lodge is now a Nursing Home.
Condition: Good firm condition with just a few old imperfections nice surface patination. The entire front and top are constructed in rosewood, the sides are in mahogany, original backboards are present.
