204. Antique George III Harewood Boxwood Inlaid Hexagonal Single Tea Caddy 19th Century

Impressive English George iii Sheraton Period Harewood Single Tea Caddy of Hexagonal Outline and of Compact proportions. Circa 1800-20. 

Each of its eight panels finely inlaid in boxwood stringing, the hinged lid with similar inlay. The front decorated with three satinwood ovals hand painted in colours with branches of Roses  

Condition: Good condition with nice patination and no losses, almost all the led lining inside has worn away. The bone escutcheon is not chipped, lock is present, key is lacking. The green baise underneath has been replaced, nicely done.  

Height: (entire) 4.5" (11.5cm). Width: (at top rim) 6" (15cm). Depth: 3.5” (8.75cm).
