Wonderful Pair of French Gilt and Alabaster Twin Handle Cassolettes or Single Light Candlesticks of generous proportions. Last half of the Nineteenth Century.
The unusual decorative handles with hanging chains on a traditional urn with a central portrait at front and back, ending on an ornate base with a central alabaster oval, raised on four supports.
Condition: Good condition for such early pieces with no losses to alabaster, few dark stains here and there around areas of the gilt metal. Professionally re-gold plates, each signed at back PH Mourey.
