Exceptionally Fine and Rare Hand Carved Irish Bog Oak Figural Owl of Museum Quality and medium proportions, quite possibly by Cornelius Goggin. Made during the Mid Nineteenth Century.
The hinged head is complete with its original Amber Glass eyes.
The Owl is perched on twin branches on a naturalistic base ending on an ornately carved circular stepped support.
Condition: Good condition for such an early piece with no losses anywhere.
