Burl Amboyna aften confused with Thuya Wood or Burr Walnut, Amboyna is a profusely burred wood that is a part of the Pterocarpus genus, most commonly obtained from the Narra Tree and is native to Southeastern Asia, Northern Australasia, and the Western Pacific Ocean islands.

It is the most expensive and sought-after of all the burl species and is used for highly decorative small wooden decorative such as Tea Caddies, Jewellery Boxes and wonderful examples of Writing Slopes such as this one offered. *Next time you take a ride in a Rolls Royce the visible dashboard interior will probably be inlaid using Amboyna.
