128. Antique Royal Doulton Lambert Jug Pitcher Sterling Mount Shakespeare Interest


A Rare Example of a Royal Doulton Lambert Earthenware or Stoneware Silver Rimmed Cream Jug made during the last quarter of the Nineteenth Century.  

The main body exquisitely applied with cameos and intaglios depicting male figures on Acanthus leaf raised decoration. 

Shakespeare phrase “BITTER MUST BE THE CUP THAT A SMILE WILL NOT” SWEETEN  

Silver mark of Francis Hollings Shepherd. London Hallmark 1888 

Condition: Superb for such an early piece, no losses anywhere, possibly never used. Incised base marks E A.
