Superb Rare Polished Well Figured banded Partridge wood Lady’s Dress Cane of outstanding quality, late Nineteenth Century, of English origin.
The elaborate Sterling silver Scottish thistle shaped (almost six inch) grip superbly embossed depicting a central shield shaped cartouche and all-over scrolling detail with flowers ending a tapering banded shaft with original bi-metal (polished brass and steel) ferrule.
London assay mark for 1891. The silver maker's mark is indistinct.
Condition: Good condition with nice patination, a family name in cartouche is indistinct.
