973. Antique Georgian Sterling Silver Crystal Desk Inkstand Joseph Craddock 1819

A Superb Example of an English Sterling Silver Late Georgian Crested Twin Ink Bottle Desk Standish, complete with all its accessories to include a pair hand cut crystal ink jars with leaf capped covers which firmly fit into their embossed square reciptals. 

The removable single candleholder is complete with its original drip pan and chained snuffer. The main gadrooned edge frame with lavish cast shell detail corners is raised on four highly ornate supports with shell, acanthus and claw detail. 

Mark of JC & WR for Joseph Craddock & William Ker Reid (1812-1824). 

Assayed in London in 1819.  

Condition: Good condition for such an early piece with no losses except for a few tiny flea bites to the crystal.
