909. Stunning French Sevres Porcelain Gilt Bronze Ormolu Mounted Urn 19th Century


Stunning French Sevres Soft Paste Porcelain and Ormolu Twin Handle Table or Mantle Urn of traditional form and of outstanding quality, and good size proportions, raised on a square stepped base with canted corners. 

The twin handles exquisitely modelled as Satyrs. The central front reserve depicting a Courting Couple in Eighteenth Century dress in landscape, back view with still life scene of Summer Flowers on a rich celiste blue ground. The original firm fitting cover with Acorn finial. 

Second quarter of the Nineteenth Century.  

Condition: Good condition for such an early piece with no losses to porcelain except for a tiny loss at upper front rim (see image), bronze mounts have been professionally re-gold plated. Some wear to gilding around central reserve.
