776. Antique Pair Chinese Porcelain Export Blue White Ormolu Gilt Bronze Urns Vases


An Exceptionally Fine Example of a Pair of Chinese Export Blue and White Lidded Urns of waisted form with octagonal outline and good size proportions. Third quarter of the Nineteenth Century.  

Each Vase hand painted with elaborate scenes of Chinese figures and scrolls in underglaze shades of blue, each dome shaped cover of conforming octagonal section similarly decorated surmounted with a standing full size Foo Dog finial. The top rim mounted with gilt bronze mount with attractive beaded decoration, each base supported with an elaborately cast gilt bronze base with canted corners.  

Condition: Superb condition for such early items, except for a hair line at upper area of one, see image. One Ormolu mount does not fit as snugly as the other however this is not visible when cover in on top, please see image also for this. Professionally re-gold plated.
