630. Rare Coromandel Walking Cane Stick 9ct Gold Collar London Hallmark 1924 Provenance


 

Superb Well Grained Polished Coromandel Walking Cane of outstanding quality. 

The traditional Crook handle and shaft are made in one piece decorated with a fully hallmarked gold collar and owner’s initials WN, ending on its original bone or cow horn ferrule.  

Makers mark is rubbed and is indistinct possibly by Ernest Lowry, specialist London Stick Maker. 

Fully hallmarked 9ct (375) Gold.  London hallmark for 1924. 

Condition: Good condition with nice patination, few small character dents.  

Nice straight firm stick 

Length: 35.75" (91cm). Width: (across handle) 4.75” (12cms).  

Provenance: Property of Scottish Artist William Niven (1890-1947).
