SUBERB PAIR FRENCH GILT BRONZE CANDLESTICKS

An Exceptionally Fine Quality Identical Pair of Hand Cut Lead Crystal & Gilt Bronze Single Light Candlesticks-Lusters. Third quarter of the Nineteenth Century, in the manner of Thomas Abbott 1930-1860 of Birmingham, England.

Each deep cut crystal circular plate decorated with fan-cut edges and facet cut hanging prisms.

Each patinated Bronze Eagle finely detailed and cast in high relief, modelled with impressive outstretched wings, the head looking outwards with sharp hooked beak clasping an ormolu ring, the large hooked talons firmly perched on an Ormolu circular plate mounted on a weighted bronze base with applied ormolu swags ending on an ornate spreading platform base.

Condition: These pieces have been professionally re-gold plated and bronze patinated, all hanging crystal drops are present and in good condition.
