473. Pair English Ormolu Gilt Bronze Candlesticks Storks Cranes Attributed to Abbott


Stunning Pair of English Ormolu and Patinated Bronze Single Light Candlesticks  of good size proportions modelled as a Pair of Storks, firmly attributed to ABBOTT. Circa 1840-60. 

Each exquisitely modelled as standing Storks or Cranes perched on a gilt naturalistic rocky outcrop ormolu base. The naturalistically cast oval form ormolu nozzles and drip pans above leaf cast base held aloft by each bird's head.   

Height: (entire) 16.75” (42.5cm). Width: (at base) 6.25" (15.5m). Depth: (at base) 5.5” (14cm). 

Condition: Superb condition with no imperfections, professionally re-gold plated and bronze patinated.
