459. Regency Rosewood Brass Inlaid Chiffonier Side Cabinet attrib. Gillows of Lancaster


An Exceptionally Fine Quality Example of an English Regency Period Well Figured Rosewood and Brass Inlaid Chiffonier Side Cabinet of compact proportions, firmly attributed to furniture maker Gillows of London & Lancaster. First quarter of the Nineteenth Century.  

The solid hand carved scrolled top edge is surmounted on the bookcase above a figured rosewood backboard and flanked by shaped solid rosewood supports with a single middle book shelf. The contra-partie decorative brass inlay to the frieze conceals a single mahogany lined drawer. The central rosewood brass inlaid drawer front with brass stringing is finely executed to the cupboard doors which open to reveal a single shelf. The dual piped uprights to the sides are neat and tidy and sit above original solid rosewood gadrooned bun feet 

Condition: Good condition, professionally re-finished.
