367. Superb Rosewood Stick Barometer Abraham Cheltenhan early 19thCt


A Very Elegant Well-Proportioned Early Nineteenth Century Well Grained Rosewood Stick Barometer, in very good working condition, retaining original rich colour and patination

Mother of Pearl inlaid pediment over a glazed engraved angled ivory scales calibrated in Fahrenheit  from twenty seven to thirty one, the dial with adjustable vernier via a circular set knob, signed by well known and prolific Maker Jacob Abraham of Cheltenham and Bath (1805-1841. Recorded as an Instrument Maker to the Duke of Gloucester and the Duke of Wellington.

Final image shows an original Trade Card for Jacob Abraham.

Condition: Good allover condition with no imperfections, in our opinion the Mother of Pearl inlay is of a slightly later period.
