A Very Fine Quality French Ormolu and Bronze Grand Tour Mantle Clock, early Nineteenth Century.
The bronzed case surmounted by a Lectern holding a book of sheet music flanked by a flaming Torchere supporting a Harp and on the left side a seated Male musician in period dress wearing a turbin and playing a harp, the plinth case with exquisite applied ormolu floral relief decoration to the front, and acanthus moulded base on lavish gilt feet with anthemion relief, the circular ornate dial with bronze-steel moon hands, the movement with thread suspended pendulum to anchor escapement, striking the hour and half hour on bell by means of a crossed out count wheel.
Condition: This Clock has been professionally serviced, re-gold plated and bronze patinated. Complete with its original pendulum and key.
