STUNNING PAIR OF EWERS AFTER SIGISBERT- FRANCOIS-MICHEL 1728-1811
A Very Impressive Identical Pair of French Ormolu & Bronze Heavy Ewers after French Sculptor Sigisbert-Francois-Michel. (1728-1811). Third quarter of the Nineteenth Century.
Each with tapering ovoid bodies cast with a band of classical male faces and lavish double swags with fruits, surmounted by the spout, flanked with a “C” scroll handle with an applied bronze topless Maiden holding a looking glass, ending on a plain circle socle with a solid plain circular bronze base.
Condition: Superb condition, these pieces have been professionally re-gold plated and bronze patinated, no foundry markings visible. Back and front views are alike.
