136. Antique Pair of English Ormolu Gilt Bronze Candlesticks Storks Cranes by Abbot


Stunning Pair of English Ormolu and Patinated Bronze Single Light Candlesticks of good size proportions modelled as a Pair of tall standing Storks, firmly attributed to ABBOTT. Circa 1840-60. 

Each exquisitely modelled as standing Storks or Cranes perched on a naturalistic rocky outcrop statutory creamy coloured marble circular base. The naturalistically cast circular form ormolu nozzles and drip pans above fret cut Acanthus leaf canopies held aloft by each bird's head.   

Height: (entire) 17” (43.5cm). Diameter: (at base) 4.75” (12cm). 

Condition: Superb condition with no imperfections, professionally re-gold plated and bronze patinated, some light staining to marble bases. Complete with original firm fitting drip pans. These pieces are unmarked but firmly attributed to ABBOT.
