xceptionally Fine Quality English Coalport Centerpiece Painted by Frederick H Chivers. First Quarter of the Twentieth Century.
The main outer body of oval outline in cobalt blue with twin scrolling gilt handles, the top rim centered by a shell at back and front, raised on scroll supports. The central reserve painting depicting an apple, rasberries and blackcurrants on a mossy ground. The back with similar decoration.
Condition: This piece is in perfect condition allover with no imperfections or restoration. Signed lower left. See clear markings as shown on images.

Frederick H Chivers 1881-1965 Fruit & Flower Painter: Worked for the Royal Worcester Porcelain Company, but by 1906 worked at port Pottery specialising in Fruit Studies. The background on his exceptional work was achieved by working the ceramic colour with a matchstick, giving a stippled effect.
