991. Rare Chinese Daoguang Porcelain Baluster Vase 19th Cent


An Extremely Rare Large Size Early Daoguang Period (1820-1850) Chinese Export Porcelain Vase of baluster form rising to a cylindrical neck. 

The main body area decorated in various tones of underglaze blue with a pair of Chinese Dragons and foliate branches with chrysanthemum blossoms on an off white ground, ending with a lower continuous band of prunus blossoms on crushed ice blue ground. 

This vase is typically of this period unmarked.

 

Height: (an impressive) 15.5" (39.5cm). Width: (at widest) 8.5" (21.5cm). Diameter: (at base) 6.5" (16.5cm). Diameter: (top rim) 4.25" (10.5cm).
