986. Exquisite Rosewood and Brass Inlaid Writing Slope Early 19th Century


An Exquisite Example of an Early Rosewood Writing Slope of small proportions of Continental origin, possibly French. Circa first half of the Nineteenth Century probably French Regency period.



The entire main area with lavish brass inlay on well figured Rosewood opening to reveal  fitted interior. 


Condition: This Slope has been carefully restored including light polishing (has not been stripped) The leather panel has been professionally replaced (see image). Lock and original key are present and working. All brass inlay is present.
