Stunning Victorian Anglo-Indian Nagina Hand Ebony Jewellery Casket, intricately hand carved all over with Islamic inspired scrolls, flowers and foliage, in our opinion it originates from Nagina, a town in the Bijnor District in the United Provinces of Eastern India. Last quarter of the Nineteenth Century.
The unusual hinged lid enclosing a heavy gauge bevelled looking glass. The interior retaining its removable fitted tray with unusual bone carvings.
Condition: Good allover condition with no losses, lock and key are present and working. The green baise underneath has been re-done very nicely.
