Very Elegant Pair of Early English Regency Royal Crown Derby Twin Scroll Handle Food Tureens of good size proportions. First quarter of the Nineteenth Century.
Lavishly gilded and hand decorated in the Imari palette in colours of iron red and cobalt blue on an off white ground, raised on plainer circular spreading bases with similar colour decoration. Complete with their firm fitting covers with decorative Acanthus leaf finials.
Condition: Superb condition for such early pieces except for a hairline crack on one (see image). Small loss to inside lip of one cover, finials are perfect. Good fresh and bright colours. Back and front views are similar. Bases with iron red mark for 1806 to1825.
