257. Fine Brass Inlaid Regency Rosewood Card Table early 19th Ct


An Exceptionally fine Quality Regency Well Figured Rosewood Fold-over Games or Card Table with lavish brass inlaid decoration, first quarter of the Nineteenth Century, possibly of Irish origin.

The well figured rectangular top with rounded corners with a wide band of very ornate brass inlay depicting flowers and scrolls. The rounded corners with cross banded edges and inlaid brass string inlay. The central plain circular support with an attractive stepped lower collar with egg and dart carving ending on a brass strung concave quadripartite platform base with superbly carved scroll and lions paw feet which are actually hand carved from solid rosewood, seldom seen, original concealed brass castors. 

Condition: Recently restored, original base which is a little worn.
