102. Superb Georgian Mahogany Bureau Bookcase Circa 1810


An Exceptionally Fine Rare Well Figured Mahogany Early Nineteenth Century Twin Door Bureau Bookcase of compact proportions. George III. Period, of English origin.

The moulded cornice above a pair of Gothic astragal twin doors all with original glass panels enclosing four moveable shelves. The central fall front Bureau opens to reveal a configuration of small drawers with ivory pulls and pigeonholes and polished writing surface above three long graduated drawers, raised on short square tapering legs.

Condition: Professionally restored, original polished brass handles. Wonderful thick oak lined drawers, a real sign of quality craftsmanship.
